No-Kill Utah (NKUT), an initiative led by Best Friends Animal Society, is bringing passionate individuals, city shelters, and an entire coalition of animal welfare organisations together to end the killing of dogs and cats in shelters throughout the entire state of Utah by the year 2019.

Their plan is simple: to provide spray / neuter services where they are most needed so fewer animals go into shelters, and increase the number of adoptions.

Part of this plan includes holding regular adoption events, giving people the opportunity to see and adopt a cat or dog.

And their plan is working- slowly but surely they are helping rescue animals find a forever home.

Dozens of the 102 dogs and cats available met their new owners at the inaugural adoption event.

Cats and dogs from Community Animal Welfare Society, Rescue Rovers Dog Adoptions, Arctic Breed Rescue, Nuzzles & Co., Pet Samaritan Fund and Salt Lake County Animal Services met members of the public on the 13th January 2018 at the NKUT inaugural adoption event. All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Please visit the NKUT Facebook page to find out about future events.
