The Hidden Gem is run by WORK Ltd, a local charity that offers people with learning disabilities a chance to reach their full potential in life. The charity provides a friendly, encouraging and rewarding environment for people with learning disabilities to develop life skills which helps to build confidence and self-esteem.

Dishes are freshly prepared on site every day using incredible local produce.

WORK Ltd began with just twelve students in 1995. From humble beginnings it has grown dramatically and serves over 78 students each week, with a dedicated team of staff tailoring support for each individual to meet their specific needs.

Hands on work projects to develop life skills are offered to people with learning disabilities aged 16+. Activities include woodwork, gardening, textiles, arts & crafts, nature walks, sports, dance, music and drama.

The services provided by the charity are sustained by donations and the proceeds from their award-winning café, The Hidden Gem, and from their gift shop and new online store.
