While most spent the Easter weekend relaxing and gorging on chocolate, colleagues from Bristol City Community Trust demonstrated the power of coming together as a community for charity.
Five staff members, along with supporters, took on the challenge of cycling a gruelling 211 miles from Land’s End to Ashton Gate, in just 3 days. Every team member was successful in the ride’s completion and arrived at the finish line welcomed by friends, family and a well-deserved celebration.
This impressive event was taken on by the riders to raise vital funds for community projects being conducted in Botswana’s capital Gaborone this summer alongside the City first team.
Although they aimed to raise £250 each, all 19 individuals surpassed their fundraising target. Combined, their efforts will make a difference to the lives of people in Botswana.
Community Trust director Amy Kington, who took on the fundraising challenge, said: “The Community Trust is extremely grateful to the riders for their continuous efforts and enthusiasm throughout the preparation and execution.
“This event is a great example of how our community has come together to achieve a common goal which will have such a positive impact in the Southern African country.”
