Legs4Africa have collected 500 discarded prosthetic legs from across the UK and, with the help from a team of volunteers, are shipping them out to Tanzanian amputees.

The charity collects and reconditions discarded prosthetic legs from the UK and ships them out to African countries such as Tanzania to meet the needs of the many people who have lost their legs due to diabetes and trauma.

“The shipping of goods to Africa is expensive so smaller charities come together to fill containers. We’ve teamed up with the Surry based, Limbcare and, with the sponsorship of Punjani charitable trust, are shipping out mobility equipment to Africa.” explains Tom Williams, chairman of Legs4Africa.
