Community groups are being given the opportunity to adopt local phone boxes for just £1!

Since the launch of the BT Adopt a Kiosk scheme, more than 5,000 communities across the UK have taken the opportunity to transform an unused phone box into something useful for people in the area.

For example, the Community Heartbeat Trust has installed defibrillators in disused phone boxes across the country. In Cheltenham, 10 red phone boxes have been transformed into miniature art galleries, showcasing the work of local artists.

There are still around 5,000 red phone boxed that can be adopted. If you would like to transform your local phone box into something useful, be it to put defibrillators in, a library, foodbank, art gallery, or something else – click here to register your interest.
