Last week Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour announced the theme of this year’s Power List: “Our planet”.

Now in its fifth year, this annual list highlights the positive and vital contributions made by women within various sections of society. This year’s list will be made up of thirty UK based women who show a clear motivation and focus in resolving issues surrounding the climate crisis.

So who should be on the list? As stated by presenter Jane Garvey, it is “the person who is absolutely pivotal in your part of the world in doing her bit to enhance the environment for everybody”.

Woman’s Hour needs your help to make the list as diverse, reflective and inclusive as possible. They are appealing for the public to make suggestions of individuals who through their decision making, innovation, campaigning or volunteering have made a positive contribution to the planet.

If someone comes to mind, you have until midnight Tuesday 6th October to act by emailing their name, description of their work and from which category as listed above they best fit to womanshour.yourviews@bbc.co.uk.

In doing so you are helping to highlight the incredible work done by so many women throughout the country. The final list, decided by five leading women within the field of environmental action, will be revealed on the 16th November.
