Sussex Cancer Fund is being supported by popular author Jaqueline Wilson, who is one of the three judges for their ‘Why We Love Sussex’ poetry competition.

Jaqueline Wilson joins Jill Hucklesby and Dr Ollie Minton (Director of Cancer Services) on the judging panel for the competition, which is asking for children aged between 6 and 16 years old to write poems about why they love Sussex.

The winning entries will be put into the book which will be sold to raise money for Sussex Cancer Fund.

“The Sussex Cancer Fund’s work has always been about making treatment more bearable for patients, improving facilities and therapies and funding cancer research projects,” said David Witham, Fund Manager at Sussex Cancer Fund. “All very positive actions. We wanted to create a fundraising project that reflects this positivity, and what better way than celebrating this amazing county that we love and serve.”

Sussex Cancer Fund, founded in 1981 was created to help fund the development of cancer research as well as helping aid patients and hospitals in terms of resources and equipment.
