The Bobbin Coffee Shop, located on the ground floor of the City Hall in Belfast is one of the most centrally located social enterprise cafes I have ever come across.
Loaf Catering took over the management of The Bobbin in September 2014. Loaf Catering is a social enterprise that runs cafes and an outside catering business. It’s part of the NOW Group, so profits from Loaf Catering are reinvested to provide opportunities for people with barriers to learning and employment.
I was in the cafe after a free tour of City Hall and it was incredibly busy. Like most of Belfast, free wifi is available at the coffee shop.
Food & Drink
The Bobbin sells a range of drinks and food, including sandwiches, wraps, soup and homemade pastries.
There are two exhibitions within the coffeeshop which are well worth a visit.
Also free public tours of City Hall are run at 11am, 2pm and 3pm Monday – Friday, and at 2pm and 3pm on Saturday.
The Bobbin is open Monday – Friday: 9am to 4.30pm; Saturday: 10am to 4pm; Sunday: closed. For more information please visit their website.
