Dogs Trust Manchester is celebrating a very busy start to 2018, finding forever homes for 100 dogs in the first month of the new year.

100 Dogs Find Forever Homes in One Month

Gorgeous Oscar ready to head home with his new owner Robin Stroud

Taking the accolade as the 100th homeless hound to be homeless no more, is two-month-old English Springer Spaniel Cross, Oscar, who is now happily settling in to his new home with owner Robin Stroud.

Mr Stroud says:

“I had a Border Collie as a child and I really wanted a playful, active young dog who wants lots of physical and mental stimulation, and Oscar definitely fits the bill!

“He is absolutely gorgeous, full of fun and I’m sure he’s gong to keep me on my toes for many years to come! It’s brilliant that so many people have chosen to adopt a dog and I’m proud that Oscar was the 100th to head home and even prouder that it was with me!”

Dogs Trust Manchester on Parkway in Denton opened its doors to the public in October 2014 and has found homes for more than 2,960 dogs.

Dawn Bishop, Rehoming Centre Manager, says:

“It has been an incredible start to the year and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has adopted one of our gorgeous dogs. We have seen dogs of all shapes, sizes and I’m happy to say ages, from young pups to golden oldies, find their special someone and it’s all thanks to people choosing to give a dog a second chance.

“Dogs find themselves without a home for many reasons including death or illness in the family, it might be because of a relationship breakdown or financial reasons. Whatever the reason we are committed to finding them their ideal home and although we have now seen thousands of dogs leave the rehoming centre with their excited new families, tails happily wagging, we never tire of it. It’s a fantastic feeling that never fades.”
