KAF’s Third Annual Event

The King Aaron Foundation (KAF) took to The New River Sports Centre in Tottenham on 6th July, marking their third annual community sports day. The big day was met with an impressive turnout from the local community of friends and family who, in their continued support, came together to compete in the yearly football tournament with food, facepaint and festive fun!

The KAF was founded in 2023 to honour the memory of Aaron, who at 26 years old passed away suddenly due to a short term illness in 2021. The foundation was set up by Aaron’s loved ones to commemorate his life and highlight medical negligence within ethnic minority groups.

2025’s Annual Football Tournament

Each year, the foundation hosts a dynamic range of events from face painting to football tournaments. In their third year, the KAF stepped things up in a high-stakes match between rival teams. Despite the unpredictable weather, spirits were high and the energy remained buzzing throughout the day.

”I look forward to coming out and seeing everybody. Everybody’s coming together, it shows the family how much Aaron is loved and it warms their heart.”

After a hard-fought match, the day ended with a 3–1 victory for ‘Bury Ballers’ over ‘Pin United’, securing their title as reigning champions.

In their annual KAF event video on YouTube, family and friends continued to celebrate Aaron’s life by sharing memories from their secondary school days, recalling moments like when he bought his first car and used it to drop a friend home. A one-minute silence was held in his honour, as Aaron is fondly remembered for his ‘humble’ and ‘generous’ nature.

The KAF’s Impact: Three Years On

Following Aaron’s tragic passing, the launch of the foundation, and the growing turnout at each annual event, shows no signs of slowing down. It’s a powerful tribute to honouring Aaron’s legacy and a testament to how his family and community have turned grief into a lasting and inspiring celebration of life.

Three years on, the KAF are keen to expand the reach of their annual tournaments, continue to foster unity between communities, striving for equality in the healthcare system and keep Aaron’s spirit and impact alive.
